The hallway after I removed the carpet, the staples, and the strips that held it all down. Even dirty and unswept, the wood floors are still awesome.

Those floors are amazing. I still can't fathom why anyone would cover 'em up. They did it a lot up our way back in the sixties and seventies, with butt-ugly shag rugs.
